Food Safety – “Énfasis Alimentación” Magazine

In Issue #6 July 2016 of the “Énfasis Alimentación” Magazine, Axionlog had its first appearance in the publication with an excellent article on Food Safety developed by Agustina Karl, Corporate Quality Manager.

“The growing interest in food safety by members of the supply chain, led to control measures and the generation of processes certification schemes, at each stage of the food chain. The ultimate goal of these systems is to ensure compliance with the expectations of the consumer.”

In April 2000 GFSI “Global Food Safety Initiatives” was born, with the need to standardize requirements due to the globalization of products that reach all markets, seeking to ensure consumer protection by strengthening confidence in the system. This initiative reaches all actors in the supply chain, where the logistics services are a fundamental piece.

In this context, the BRC certification stands out as one of the ideals within the category of logistics operators and food service distributors. This standard focuses on quality as well as food security and legality.

Axionlog, the first logistic company to be part of GFSI in South America, is planning in addition to its existing HACCP plan and AIB certification, to certify BRC for each of the 11 distribution centers in Latin America, adding to the growing demand in the food sector to ensure security and food safety.
